A cyber museum chronicling the life of Chung Ju-yung, late founder of Hyundai Group, opened Sunday.

The website, www.asan-chungjuyung.com, launched by Hyundai Motor Group, looks back at his entrepreneurship and challenges. It consists mainly of three sections: Chung Ju-yung talks; Acquaintances talk; and a memorial hall containing various records.

The first part where Chung tells his story takes the form of a movie, in which he delivers messages of challenge, creativity and hope to the current generation. Episodes in the part deal with the birth of Hyundai, the local automotible industry, the overseas construction market, Hyundai’s dream to build steel mills, a huge land reclamation project, heavy industry plants, expressway construction, a successful Olympic bid and nonprofit activitites.

In the section of retrospectives by his acquaintances, visitors can take a look at little-known anecdotes about the Hyundai founder.

The memorial hall provides about 200 photos, a short biography, chronology, a collection of his sayings, and videos of his speeches and interviews.

The English version of the cyber museum is scheduled to come around at the end of the year. The website opened Sunday to coincide with Chung’s 97th birthday.
