The R&B quartet Brown Eyed Soul will embark on a seven-city tour beginning Dec. 15. (Santamusic)

The sweet, melodic vocals of the soulful group Brown Eyed Soul can be heard live starting next month.

The group announced that it would embark on a nationwide tour starting Dec. 15. The tour will hit seven cities, beginning with Gwangju and moving on to Ilsan, Daegu, Daejeon, Suwon, Busan and Seoul.

The tour, which has been named “Soul Play,” will be the group’s second nationwide tour after 2011’s “Soul Fever” tour.

The Korean R&B quartet is known for their soaring vocals and harmonizing sound. They released their debut album, “Soul Free,” in 2003, which put them on the Korean R&B map. The single, “Did We Really Love?” topped the KBS charts upon its release.

The group’s second album, “The Wind, the Sea, the Rain,” was released four years after their debut and sold approximately 100,000 copies nationwide. The following year, the quartet won the R&B award at the 5th Korean Music Awards.

In 2010 the group made a much-anticipated comeback after the members began focusing on their solo careers, releasing their self-titled third album.

The four members Na-ul, Seong Hoon, Yeong-jun and Jeong-yeop have become successful solo artists, each having released their own R&B albums.

In 2005, the group’s main vocalist Na-ul released his first solo album titled “Back to the Soul Flight” that turned out hit songs such as “Sad Caf,” featuring the comedic rapping style of the group Dynamic Duo and a remake of a Stevie Wonder classic, “Ribbon in the Sky.”

In September of this year, he released his second solo album, “Principle of My Soul.” His hit ballad piece, “Memory of the Wind,” currently sits in the top 25 on the K-pop Hot Billboard charts.

Member Yeong-jun also released his first solo album in the beginning of this year, while Seong Hoon and Jeong-yeop both released individual albums last year.

The Seoul concert of the Soul Play tour will take place on Feb. 15 and 16 at Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena. Tickets for all city performances are currently on sale.
